I had to visit the Art Gallery of NSW to help my niece with her school assignment. So, I dragged my children along!! But I thought it would also be a great opportunity to do a location scout! The Art Gallery of NSW is known for its amazing columns at the front. Unfortunately, they are doing building works, so I couldn't get the usual shot of it. But I was surprised to find the inside was just as interesting as the outside. The rooms have lots of gorgeous collections in them, but they also have interesting lighting, as well as colours, and the interaction with the artwork can make for amazing portraits. In paricular, there were a couple of hallways that would be amazing, as well as a room with a large curved screen projecting amazing graphics that would make for stunning silhouette shots! Even the staircases and escalators can be the scene for a great shot. But on the outside, there is also some interesting places. There is a bridge, but also an amazing coloured wall which would be a gorgeous backdrop! Also beautiful trees lining lovely paths. This would be a great location for couples or families. If you are an arty/creative family, this would be a great location for your portraits.
