I took my kids and father to Canberra to attend the Dawn Service on Anzac Day at the Australian War Memorial. I have three family members on the memorial wall which was very emotional when I found them with my kids when we visited a few years ago. I have never attended a Dawn Service before and felt if I was going to do it, do it right! I love Canberra. I love the symmetry, the attractions and the fun you can have as a family. There is always so much to do. One of the things we did during our visit was visit the National Museum of Canberra. They had an architectural tour of the building which went through the design elements, the meanings, the controversy of the design by architects Ashton Raggatt McDougall and Robert Peck von Hartel Trethowan, it was so fascinating! I loved it. It was the highlight of the trip for me. My eldest daughter is interested in design as well so I thought it was a great thing to do. While we were going around, I of course had my camera and was snapping away. Even without knowing the meanings, it is a very funky building to view. There are a lot of weddings that have their location photos there, and I can see why! So many colours, shapes, textures, I just loved it. If you are in Canberra, and want to organise a family shoot with a difference, I would love to use this location! As well as the Lake.
